Restless embalmed sprinters of the desert surface
The Mummy is a swift undead creature that arises across the surface Desert during Hardmode. Carrying 130 health and 16 defense, it sprints across dunes with high running speed, delivering 50 contact damage in Classic, 100 in Expert, and 150 in Master. Its rapid stride and high numbers make traversing surface deserts hazardous once Hardmode begins.
Ankh charm clocks and mummy vanity sets
Because Mummies close distance rapidly across flat sand, using high-knockback weapons like flails or bows with unholy arrows keeps them pushed back. Slaying Mummies offers a 1% chance to obtain the Fast Clock, an immunity accessory for the Ankh Shield that prevents the Slow debuff. They also drop wearable vanity pieces including the Mummy Mask at 1.33%.
Trivia
- It moves considerably faster than standard surface zombies, sprint-hopping across sand dunes.
- When the Desert becomes infected by Corruption, Crimson, or Hallow, specialized elemental mummies take its place.
