Drops
Vulture drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Perched desert scavengers ambushing early travelers
Vultures are opportunistic avian scavengers that perch atop sandy dunes and tall cacti throughout the Desert biome. Initially resting motionless with 40 life and 4 defense, they survey surrounding sands for wounded prey. They deal 15 base contact damage, serving as a classic hazard for newly created adventurers traversing arid wastes.
Evading sweeping swoops and high-angle dive attacks
A resting Vulture remains docile until a player steps too close or damages it from afar, whereupon it screeches and takes to the air. Circling overhead, it executes swooping diagonal dives that can quickly catch unarmored characters without movement boots. Slaying them with ranged bows or long-reach spears before they take flight avoids erratic dogfights. Master mode raises the desert bird’s vitality to 120 life, making its 45 damage swoops deadly to fresh spawn.
Trivia
- Vultures remain stationary on desert sand or cacti until approached or damaged.
- Striking a perched Vulture from long range prompts it to take flight and pursue the attacker.
