The feral hunter of the deep caverns
The Nymph is the true, vicious form of the Lost Girl, triggered the moment an explorer gets too close or attacks her disguise. Shedding all pretenses of vulnerability, she lets out a growl and sprints directly toward the player with shocking ground velocity. She commands 300 health and 16 defense.
Surviving fierce charges and securing the metal detector
With rapid acceleration and 35 contact damage in Classic (70 in Expert), an unexpected encounter with a Nymph can easily prove fatal for early spelunkers. Slaying this feral predator yields the valuable Metal Detector at a 50% rate, a cornerstone item for crafting the Goblin Tech and Cell Phone.
Trivia
- The Nymph is widely regarded as one of the deadliest pre-Hardmode cavern encounters due to her high speed.
- Using a Hunter Potion highlights the Nymph through dark walls before she ambushes you.
