Town NPCs charge less when they are happy: the game lowers their prices for loved and liked biomes and neighbours and raises them for disliked and hated ones.
Drops
Squire Slime drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Transforming a slime with copper armaments
The Squire Slime begins life as an ordinary slime bouncing across the surface world. When the player drops a Copper Helmet or Copper Shortsword directly onto any basic surface slime, the creature absorbs the metallic gear. It hops upward in a shower of sparkles, equipping a polished copper helmet with a proud feathered plume, and transforms into a loyal town resident.
He hops gallantly around town grounds with 250 health and 15 defense, inflicting 10 base contact damage against monsters that dare invade his fortified courtyard.
Chivalrous slime quarters and room sharing
As a Town Slime, the Squire Slime does not require an entire house to himself. Unlike humanoid villagers who require independent tables, chairs, and doors, town slimes can share a room with any humanoid town NPC without triggering crowding penalties or occupying their housing banner. They wander across platforms, nap comfortably in armchairs, and never complain about room size or noisy neighbors.
Town slimes count toward the town census required to activate regional Pylons, providing essential community population numbers without driving up vendor prices. Collecting him contributes toward the Great Advance achievement awarded upon gathering all eight royal town slimes.
Knightly helmet and bouncy companionship
Interacting with the Squire Slime triggers heart bubbles and causes him to hop enthusiastically, offering noble companionship to battle-weary adventurers. While he possesses no shop inventory, his presence enhances town morale, bringing courtly charm and slime diplomacy to frontier outposts throughout the kingdom. His helmet remains securely fastened even while tumbling across platforms.
Royal town slime council and pylon networks
Pairing the Squire Slime with an isolated humanoid vendor creates an instant two-resident outpost capable of powering regional Pylons. Because town slimes generate zero crowding penalties, the neighboring vendor retains their maximum happiness discount, making the gallant slime an invaluable asset for remote travel networks across deserts, oceans, and frozen mountains.
Trivia
- Dropping a Copper Helmet onto a bouncing wild slime transforms it into the armored Squire Slime.
- Like other town slimes, the Squire Slime can live in an occupied room without causing overcrowding.
