Shapeshifting bloodsuckers of the darkened solar eclipse
The Vampire emerges during the Hardmode Solar Eclipse event, possessing 750 life and 24 armor. On the ground, it walks as a pale humanoid delivering 80 contact damage (160 in Expert and 240 in Master). When encountering cliffs or obstacles, it instantly transforms into a tiny bat form that flies rapidly through the air to close distance on the player before shifting back.
Securing nocturnal wings and moon stones
Fighting Vampires requires high knockback weapons or continuous piercing attacks like the Death Sickle to prevent them from swarming during chaotic eclipse waves. Defeating a Vampire offers the Broken Bat Wing at 2.5%, an essential ingredient for crafting Bat Wings. Furthermore, it drops the Moon Stone at 2.86% for nocturnal stat boosts, and the Amulet of the Night at 2.5%.
Trivia
- Vampires alter their collision box dynamically when transforming between humanoid and bat forms.
