Wood Helmet

Fashioning entry-level head protection at the work bench

Crafted at a Work Bench from 20 Wood logs, the Wood Helmet supplies 1 defense to the player. When worn with the accompanying Wood Breastplate and Wood Greaves, the set reaches 2 base defense, triggering an additional +1 defense set bonus to finish with 3 total defense. This simple hat cushions incoming blows from wandering green slimes and low-level zombies.

Tactical positioning within first-day exploration loadouts

Chopping two or three surface trees supplies enough timber to produce this helmet alongside basic tools on day one. While it offers modest protection, it requires no furnace or anvil, letting beginners equip gear within minutes of spawning. Upgrading to metal headgear like Copper Helmet or venturing into a desert for Cactus Helmet provides higher defense once night falls and aggressive monsters begin roaming surface lands.

Trivia

• Requires 20 logs harvested from standard surface trees with any axe.
