Lightning Boots represent a crucial mobility upgrade over Hermes and Spectre Boots, granting the sprint velocity needed to kite early Hardmode bosses and event swarms across long bridge arenas. They combine with Ice Skates at a Tinkerer's Workshop to craft Frostspark Boots, which eventually ascend into Terraspark Boots. They give players reliable evasion against the Wall of Flesh and Mechanical Bosses before wings become prominent.
