Skeleton Merchant purchase and offstring mechanics

Purchased from the Skeleton Merchant for 1 platinum during Hardmode once any mechanical boss has been defeated. When equipped, Magic String extends yoyo tether distance and enables offstring technique. Whenever the player throws or retracts a yoyo, an extra offstring projectile discharges toward the cursor. This supplementary projectile deals 75% of the primary yoyo base damage and knockback, striking nearby enemies independently.

Yoyo combat spacing and accessory fusion

Magic String improves crowd control for yoyo players by striking secondary targets during chaotic skirmishes. At a Tinkerer's Workshop, it combines with the Yoyo Bag to create the Magic Yoyo Bag, condensing multiple yoyo accessories into a single equipment slot. Prior to assembling the bag, players can pair it with counterweights or the Yoyo Glove to multiply active projectiles. Reforging to Menacing maximizes damage dealt by the offstring projectile, while Violent increases melee attack speed.
