Floating Island discovery and celestial starfall strikes
Looted from Skyware Chests on Floating Islands or fished from sky lakes inside Azure Crates. Starfury deals 25 melee damage with 5 knockback. Swinging the blade summons a celestial star that plunges from the heavens toward the cursor position. The falling star deals double the sword base damage, pierces unworked blocks while descending, and produces luminous light upon impact.
Cave scouting utility and Zenith crafting lineage
Beyond direct combat, Starfury serves as a premier cave-exploring tool in pre-Hardmode. Because falling stars generate light through dark subterranean chambers, players can safely reveal ore deposits and open chasms behind solid dirt walls. It remains a crucial component in late-game progression, being required at a Mythril Anvil to forge Zenith. Its optimal modifier is Legendary.
Trivia
- Starfury is one of the original weapons added in Terraria 1.0.0, where it originally functioned as a magic weapon costing mana.
- The falling star projectile deals twice the sword base melee damage, making direct sky strikes considerably stronger than blade contact.
