Hunting undead miners for excavation garb
The Mining Shirt drops from the Undead Miner in cavern depths with a 12% drop rate, or converts from Mining Pants through Shimmer transmutation. Wearing it supplies 1 defense and accelerates block breaking with a 10% bonus to mining speed. It forms the torso piece of the dedicated three-piece Mining utility set, improving cave clearing speed. The speed increase functions with all pickaxes and drills throughout progression.
Hellevators and rapid tunnel construction
Completing the outfit alongside Mining Pants and a Mining Helmet activates the set bonus, increasing overall mining speed by 30%. Although it offers minimal protection against aggressive subterranean monsters, the digging acceleration saves substantial time when carving out boss arenas or vertical shafts. Stacking this set with a Mining Potion and Ancient Chisel maximizes pickaxe velocity.
Trivia
- The shirt can be shimmered back and forth with the pants to easily acquire missing outfit pieces.
- Mining speed bonuses reduce the tool swing delay when striking terrain blocks.
