Cavern skeleton drops and subterranean speed
These utility trousers drop from the Undead Miner in the cavern layer with a 12% drop rate. Players can also obtain them by tossing a Mining Shirt into Shimmer liquid. When equipped, they provide 1 defense and grant a passive 10% increase to pickaxe mining speed, expediting block removal during subterranean excavation. Unlike heavy metal greaves that prioritize defense, these pants focus entirely on subterranean utility and terrain clearance.
Excavation builds and set bonus efficiency
Pairing these pants with the Mining Shirt and Mining Helmet activates the Mining armor set bonus, granting an additional 10% mining speed. Together, the full suit delivers a 30% mining speed bonus. Combining this gear with an Ancient Chisel and a Mining Potion enables rapid hellevator digging and swift ore extraction.
Trivia
- Update 1.4.4 raised the Undead Miner drop chance for mining apparel from 2.4% to 12%.
- Tossing Mining Pants into Shimmer transmutes them directly into the Mining Shirt.
