Acquired as a drop from Plantera in the Underground Jungle with a 14.29% chance. The staff manifests an extending briar spear towards the cursor at a Fast speed (use time 25), consuming 12 mana per cast. Dealing 35 base magic damage with 1 knockback, the thorn shaft penetrates unlimited hostile targets and passes freely through solid tiles, traveling unimpeded through ceilings and walls.

Safe-room tactical combat and magic sets

Serving as the Hardmode successor to the Vilethorn and Crystal Vile Shard, the weapon excels at defensive and tactical engagements. Players can seal themselves inside fortified bunkers or safe rooms and safely dispatch dangerous foes in the post-Plantera Dungeon or Jungle Temple. Combining it with a Spectre Mask produces homing spectral bolts that swarm out from targets hit behind walls. Mythical provides the optimal modifier.
