Purchased from the friendly Skeleton Merchant for 5 gold when met during Waning Gibbous or Waxing Crescent moons. Hitting an enemy with any yoyo triggers an automatic secondary red counterweight projectile. The counterweight orbits outward, hitting surrounding hostiles for the striking yoyo's base damage and knockback, disrupting hostile crowds while keeping the player safe from ambushes.

Upgrading into unified yoyo equipment

The extra knockback is valuable when fighting aggressive cavern fauna such as armored skeletons and blood crawlers. Combining the red weight with any crafted string at a Tinkerer's Workshop produces a Strung Counterweight. Bringing that item together with a Yoyo Glove completes the Yoyo Bag, doubling offensive output by releasing two yoyos and two counterweights at once.

• The projectile's flight path tracks the angle of the original impact before beginning its orbit.
• Slotting the item into a social vanity slot dyes any active counterweight projectile crimson red.
• Only one counterweight can be deployed at a time until wearing specialized Hardmode glove accessories.
