It offers 21 defense, adds a 6% melee damage bonus, and draws monster aggression directly toward the player. Mining chlorophyte ore and hunting Giant Tortoises in the Underground Jungle unlocks this sturdy headgear immediately following mechanical boss victories.

Thorns reflection mechanics and beetle armor progression

Combining this helmet with Turtle Scale Mail and Turtle Leggings bestows 15% damage reduction and reflects 100% of incoming melee contact damage back at assailants. Beyond its protective qualities against Plantera, this piece remains a necessary crafting ingredient later in progression. Defeating Golem allows warriors to combine it with Beetle Husks to construct the Beetle Helmet. Pairing it with a Frozen Shield creates a resilient tank setup.
