Offering 27 defense, an 8% increase to melee damage and critical strike chance, and drawing monster aggro, this bulky cuirass serves as the primary defensive anchor of melee loadouts during mid-Hardmode exploration, mining, and farming.

Preparing for Plantera and dual beetle upgrade paths

Worn alongside the Turtle Helmet and Turtle Leggings, it provides 15% damage reduction and a 100% thorns reflection effect against melee strikes. This protection proves instrumental when dueling Plantera deep in the Jungle underground or repelling Solar Eclipse assaults. Later in progression, this torso armor serves as the direct foundation for both Beetle Scale Mail and Beetle Shell once players harvest husks from the Jungle Temple.
