Possessed crimson battleaxe flight
The Crimson Axe is an enchanted weapon enemy that drifts through the Underground Crimson during Hardmode. Boasting 200 health and 18 defense, it glides steadily through solid walls without regard for terrain, dealing 80 contact damage in Classic, 160 in Expert, and 240 in Master. Contact with this cursed blade inflicts the Cursed debuff, preventing the victim from using any weapons, tools, or items for several seconds.
Combat strategies and nazar hunting
Because it phases through solid blocks, the Crimson Axe frequently catches miners unaware while digging through subterranean red chasms. Keeping cavern chambers well-lit and listening for its metallic swooshing sound allows players to knock it back before it connects. Defeating the Crimson Axe offers a 1% chance to claim the Nazar accessory, a vital shield ingredient for the Ankh Charm that grants permanent immunity to the Cursed debuff.
Trivia
- It represents the Crimson counterpart to the Corruption's Cursed Hammer and the Hallow's Enchanted Sword.
- Like other flying weapons, it periodically pauses in mid-air to spin rapidly before lunging forward.
