Serpentine gliders patrolling the lihzahrd temple corridors
Flying Snakes are swift winged reptiles that guard the interior halls of the Jungle Temple. Built with 260 health and 28 armor, a Flying Snake maneuvers through tight brick hallways, dealing 85 contact damage in Classic, 170 in Expert, and 255 in Master. Unlike ground enemies, their continuous hovering flight allows them to pursue intruders across deep pits and spike-covered temple altars.
Acquiring solar fragments and lihzahrd power cells
Using piercing weapons like the Terra Blade or Death Sickle is ideal for intercepting Flying Snakes as they dart through temple corridors. Farming Flying Snakes alongside Lihzahrds is essential for amassing enough power cells to repeatedly practice the Golem boss fight. Defeating them provides Solar Tablet Fragments at a 14.3% chance (1–2 units), Lihzahrd Power Cells at 2% to challenge Golem, and the pet Lizard Egg at 0.1%.
Trivia
- Flying Snakes glide over floor-mounted wooden spikes and pressure plates without activating temple traps.
