| Adamantite Drill | 18 × Adamantite Bar | Mythril Anvil |
Continuous subterranean burrowing and fixed cadence
The Adamantite Drill provides 180% pickaxe power, allowing miners to extract Adamantite, Titanium, and all preceding mineral tiers. Forging it takes 18 Adamantite Bar ingots at a Mythril Anvil or Orichalcum Anvil. When activated, it projects a spinning bit directly forward that inflicts 20 base melee damage and 0.5 knockback, carving narrow tunnels through deep subterranean stone.
Hardmode vein extraction and swinging alternative
Unlike the Adamantite Pickaxe, drills operate on a locked tick rate and cannot gain speed boosts from a Mining Potion or Ancient Chisel. The Light modifier provides no increase to drilling frequency, making Godly or Demonic the preferred reforges. While it cannot penetrate Chlorophyte Ore, it reliably harvests ore caches needed to prepare armor and weapons before tackling the mechanical bosses.
Trivia
- With 180% pickaxe power, it can mine all early Hardmode mineral veins.
- Drills channel at a constant rate that ignores melee swing speed buffs.
