Golden Fishing Rod

Peak angling strength from completed Angler quests

The Golden Fishing Rod offers the highest base fishing power of any standard pole in the game. It is awarded by the Angler NPC upon completing the 30th fishing quest as a fixed milestone reward. After completing 30 quests, subsequent daily tasks have a 1 in 250 chance to award another rod. Featuring 50% fishing power, it significantly improves catch frequency, boosts crate encounter rates, and minimizes junk catches.

Angling mechanics, catch rates, and rare crate hauls

A high fishing power rating improves rewards from ocean, cavern, and sky biomes. Pairing this rod with Master Bait, Fishing Potions, and the Angler armor set easily pushes overall fishing strength above 100%, unlocking top-tier titanium and golden crates. Unlike standard melee and ranged weapons, fishing rods cannot receive reforges or prefixes from the Goblin Tinkerer. Players looking for lava fishing must equip the Lavaproof Fishing Hook or use underworld bait.
