Fall negation and fire block protection
Crafted at the Tinkerer's Workshop using a Lucky Horseshoe and an Obsidian Skull, the Obsidian Horseshoe unites fall safety with molten surface resistance. It negates all fall damage regardless of drop distance, while granting immunity to burning damage caused by contact with Meteorite and Hellstone blocks. By combining two crucial exploration trinkets, it frees an accessory slot for other combat or mobility gear.
Cavern spelunking and Underworld excavation utility
This accessory serves as a premier exploration tool during late Pre-Hardmode, particularly when constructing Hellbridges or mining Hellstone ore in the Underworld. Players can drop freely down vertical cavern hellevators without fear of fatal impacts or hot block contact. While the Lucky Horseshoe can alternately be forged into jumping balloons like Blue Horseshoe Balloon, the Obsidian Horseshoe excels in hazardous mining environments. Reforging to Warding adds +4 defense against cavern creatures.
