Corruption chest unlocking and homing splinter spawns
The Scourge of the Corruptor is locked inside the Dungeon's Corruption Chest, which requires a Corruption Key to open after defeating Plantera. Using the weapon hurls a swift javelin termed the Eater's Bite. Upon colliding with an enemy or a solid block, the projectile bursts into two to four Tiny Eaters that aggressively home in on nearby hostiles while ricocheting off surrounding walls.
Indirect room clearance and optimal melee reforging
The primary projectile deals 70 base melee damage, while each secondary eater delivers slightly more than half that figure. Because the resulting eaters curve around obstacles and bounce through complex tunnels, players can strike enemies hiding behind thick walls without establishing direct line of sight. Godly or Demonic provides the highest combat efficiency since the weapon fires projectiles rather than swinging a blade. Along with Paladin's Hammer, it serves as a top ranged melee asset.
Trivia
- Tiny Eaters can ricochet off solid blocks up to five times before naturally dissolving.
- The miniature eaters emit small green particles that illuminate tight cavern pathways.
