Petrifying gaze inside underground marble caverns
Medusa is a dangerous mythological foe native to subterranean Marble Caves. With 400 life and 20 defense, she roams smooth marble blocks while delivering 30 contact damage (60 in Expert and 90 in Master). Her most lethal ability is an eye-glare attack that charges with distinct rays: players looking directly at her during this flash suffer the Stoned debuff, falling uncontrollably and suffering fatal damage upon hitting the ground.
Countering gorgon glare for the pocket mirror
Fighting Medusa requires turning your character away or breaking line of sight behind solid blocks whenever her glare charges. Eliminating her provides Pizza at 2%, alongside the Medusa Head magic weapon at a 4% rate. Crucially, she drops the Pocket Mirror at a 2.5% chance, an accessory that provides direct immunity against petrification when navigating deep marble ruins.
Trivia
- Being inflicted with the Stoned debuff mid-air causes severe fall damage regardless of equipped wings or lucky horseshoes.
- Turning your back toward Medusa right before her gaze finishes prevents the petrification effect.
