Prismatic gelatinous creatures bordering the aether shimmer pool

The Shimmer Slime is an ethereal variant of slime native to the Aether biome, found hopping along the shores of the subterranean Shimmer pool. Bearing 80 health and 5 defense, it deals 20 contact damage, increasing to 40 in Expert and 60 in Master mode. Its translucent body sparkles with chromatic reflections, illuminating surrounding stone caverns with a gentle glow.

Navigating ethereal cavern shores and collecting gel

Because falling into Shimmer causes players to phase downward through solid blocks, fighting Shimmer Slimes requires careful footwork along the edges of the pool. Eliminating a Shimmer Slime provides Gel at a 100% rate in quantities of 2–5, and offers a rare 0.01% chance to drop the Slime Staff summon weapon.

Trivia

  • Shimmer Slimes spawn naturally in the Aether biome and do not suffer phasing penalties when in contact with Shimmer liquid.
