Pirate Deadeye in Terraria

Enemy Banner: Pirate Deadeye Banner

Nobody knows if 'Dead Eye' refers to their precise aim, or the fact that one of their eyes is indeed 'dead'... like their targets.

Bestiary entry and numbers read from Terraria 1.4.5.8 itself.

Chances are for one kill, before Luck, Rate of fire or banners change anything. The Modes column says in which difficulties the game lists the drop.

High-velocity musket volleys across the shoreline

The Pirate Deadeye serves as the dedicated marksman of the pirate raiding fleet. Brandishing a heavy flintlock musket, he tracks the player from mid-range and discharges high-velocity lead bullets that travel on flat horizontal trajectories. With only 14 base defense and fragile health, he cannot withstand concentrated counterfire. However, in wide open areas without barricades, his rapid bullet volleys can catch airborne players off-guard and chip away at health pools.

Hunting the rare Coin Gun and Lucky Coin accessories

Neutralizing Deadeyes helps secure the battlefield while offering a slim opportunity to claim rare invasion trophies. Each fallen gunner has a microscopic 0.025% chance to drop the Coin Gun, which turns raw coins into devastating ammunition. Additionally, players might secure the Lucky Coin (0.05%) to farm extra currency from monster strikes, the Gold Ring (0.2%) to expand coin pickup range, or ornate vanity pieces such as the Eye Patch (0.2%).

Trivia

  • Despite aiming with an eye patch, the Deadeye fires bullets with sharp linear accuracy.
  • Unlike the Crossbower, the Deadeye uses instant-travel hitscan bullets rather than arched projectiles.
