Pirate invasion drops and ricocheting explosive barrels
Dropped by enemies during the Pirate Invasion event, including Pirate Deckhand, Pirate Corsair, Pirate Captain, and the Flying Dutchman. This heavy ranged weapon fires rolling explosive barrels without consuming any ammunition. Each barrel strikes for 100 base ranged damage and 8 knockback. If a barrel bounces off solid ground before striking an enemy, it gains 33% bonus damage before exploding in a wide 192-pixel blast.
Zero ammo cost and area suppression comparisons
Compared to traditional rocket weapons like the Grenade Launcher, the Barrel Launcher provides powerful area-of-effect damage with zero ammunition expenditure. Its bouncing trajectory makes it effective against tightly packed invasion crowds and ground swarms during the Solar Eclipse. Rangers should arc shots downward so barrels bounce and activate the damage multiplier. Pairing it with Titanium Armor enhances ranged critical chance. Its premier reforge modifier is Unreal.
Trivia
- The Barrel Launcher is inspired by the Derelict Distillery weapon from Dead Cells, complete with bouncing barrels that detonate on contact.
- Barrels that bounce off tiles gain 33% bonus damage before detonating in their wide blast radius.
