Drops
Zoologist drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Cataloging the fauna to open the menagerie
The Zoologist moves into town once the player records at least fifty-four entries in the Bestiary, representing one-tenth of total world creature documentation, alongside an available house. She serves as an early-game summoner vendor and animal enthusiast, encouraging players to explore various biomes and battle diverse foes across all progression stages.
She defends herself in combat using claw slashes. During a Full Moon or Blood Moon, she transforms into a fierce werefox with altered dialogue and heightened ferocity. She withstands damage with 250 vitality and 15 defense, dealing 10 contact damage to beasts that attack her.
Whips, companion guides, and pet licensing
Her shop inventory expands as the player discovers more creatures. She sells the Leather Whip, Critter Shampoo, the Guide to Critter Companionship (preventing accidental critter kills), mounts like the Mollusk Whistle, Golf Cart Key, and Digging Molecart, pet licenses (Cat, Dog, Bunny), animal vanity ears and tails, and the Universal Pylon upon reaching complete Bestiary completion.
The Universal Pylon can be placed in any biome without requiring nearby residents, offering unparalleled late-game teleportation freedom.
Forest menagerie housing and critter licenses
The Zoologist rewards players as they fill entries in their Bestiary, offering animal vanity suits, pet licenses, whips, and mount gear. Inspect the preference table above for her detailed biome ratings and companion multipliers.
Housing her in the peaceful Forest near the Golfer provides generous discounts on the Leather Whip, Critter Companionship guide, and squirrel hooks while powering the regional Forest Pylon.
Passive wildlife protection and critter guides
Summoners and builders cherish her Guide to Critter Companionship book. Carrying it in personal inventory prevents erratic weapon swings, minion strikes, and whip sweeps from accidentally slaughtering rare critters like Gold Bunnies or Prismatic Lacewings, ensuring rare catches can be netted safely without tragic mishaps. She also sells decorative animal tails and ear headbands for collectors.
Trivia
- Her werefox transformation during Full Moon and Blood Moon events alters both her appearance and voice lines.
- Her Universal Pylon can be placed in any biome without requiring nearby residents.
