Happiness: where it likes to live
Town NPCs charge less when they are happy: the game lowers their prices for loved and liked biomes and neighbours and raises them for disliked and hated ones.

Drops
Witch Doctor drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Claiming the herbal throne after Queen Bee
The Witch Doctor moves into town once the player slays Queen Bee in the Underground Jungle, provided an unoccupied room is available. Queen Bee can be summoned by breaking a Bee Larva in underground honey hives or by crafting an Abeemination. He acts as a premier merchant for summoners and alchemical fighters throughout both Pre-Hardmode and Hardmode.
When hostile creatures approach, he defends his abode by firing poisonous darts from a Blowgun. He channels jungle resilience with 250 health and 15 defense, causing 10 contact damage to encroaching foes that attempt to breach his hut.
The Imbuing Station and summoner relics
Early on, he sells the Blowgun, decorative water fountains, and the essential Imbuing Station, which enables players to brew weapon flasks from herbs and materials to infuse melee and whip strikes with debuffs like Cursed Flames, Ichor, Venom, and Gold. In Hardmode, housing him in the Jungle unlocks vital summoner gear: the Pygmy Necklace, Hercules Beetle (post-Plantera), and Tiki Armor.
Summoners prioritize moving him into the Jungle immediately upon entering Hardmode to purchase accessories that boost minion slots and minion damage, dramatically strengthening summoner progression.
Canopy jungle huts and minion accessory wares
Summoner characters rely heavily on the Witch Doctor for critical class accessories like the Pygmy Necklace, Hercules Beetle, and Tiki Armor. Checking the preference table above reveals his environmental ratings and neighbor scores.
Housing his tribal hut deep in the Jungle near the Dryad keeps his expensive summoner gear and early Hardmode Leaf Wings affordable while powering the Jungle Pylon.
Nocturnal canopy trade and leaf wings
Visiting the Witch Doctor in his jungle dwelling during nighttime hours unlocks additional specialized goods. Summoners rely heavily on his stock after defeating Plantera, purchasing the Tiki armor set and Hercules Beetle to assemble formidable late-game minion armies. In post-Plantera Hardmode, his shop also provides Leaf Wings during nighttime hours, granting reliable vertical flight and swift aerial mobility.
Trivia
- His Leaf Wings were previously a premier early-Hardmode purchase before being shifted to post-Plantera in recent updates.
- He belongs to the Lihzahrd species, sharing visual traits with the temple inhabitants.
