Drops

Golfer drops nothing in the game's drop rules.

Rescuing the stranded sportsman from desert sinkholes

The Golfer is a sporting enthusiast who brings the full sport of golf to Terraria. Unlike regular merchants who arrive once wealth thresholds are met, the Golfer must be discovered trapped in the hazardous Underground Desert as the Rescued Golfer, dodging Antlion larvae and falling sandstone.

Speaking with him breaks his disorientation, allowing him to claim any vacant room on the surface. He possesses 250 life and 15 defense. When zombies or slimes approach his quarters, he defends himself by swinging golf clubs and launching solid golf balls directly at encroaching monsters.

Fairway clubs, turf greens, and score rewards

His shop provides everything required to build and play customized golf courses across the world. He stocks Drivers for long-distance drives, Irons for mid-range clearing, Wedges for high arcs over obstacles, Putters for sinking rolling shots, as well as Golf Cups, Tees, and colorful Golf Balls.

He also sells the Lawn Mower, an exceptionally useful gardening tool. Mowing grass blocks with the mower trims them into tidy lawn grass, which prevents weeds and flowers from sprouting while significantly lowering monster spawn rates in that area. As players build courses and accumulate golf score points, his shop unlocks decorative paintings, whistles, and the Golf Cart Key mount.

Forest fairway estates and country club perks

The Golfer seeks wide, undulating greens where golf balls roll freely without obstacle. His detailed biome affinities and roommate preferences are documented in the preference table above.

Placing his country club in the calm Forest near the Angler lowers the coin price of golf carts, drivers, irons, and decorative trophies while powering the regional Forest Pylon. Accumulating higher golf scores across player-built courses expands his store with prestigious golfing attire.

Trivia

  • Mowing surface grass with his Lawn Mower substantially reduces hostile monster spawn rates across the trimmed turf.
  • Dialogue reveals he is the brother of the Zoologist, making them one of the few confirmed sibling pairs in town.
