Shadowflame Hex Doll

Writhing shadow tentacles and defensive wall penetration

Dropped by the Goblin Warlock in Hardmode Goblin Army invasions. When activated, the doll summons three writhing shadowflame tentacles that lash outward from the caster toward the cursor. The shadowy tendrils weave through solid blocks, piercing all enemies caught in their path and inflicting the Shadowflame debuff. Striking with 32 base magic damage at Fast speed for 6 mana, each tentacle hits multiple times along its erratic trajectory, suppressing incoming swarms.

Invasion clearing and close-quarters spellcasting

The ability to bypass solid walls makes the weapon suitable for fighting safely from behind constructed barriers during pirate raids or Solar Eclipse events. It also deals rapid consecutive hits to large multi-segmented foes like The Destroyer. Compared to long-range options such as the Laser Rifle or Sky Fracture, the doll trades forward reach for dense close-range crowd control. The recommended prefix is Mythical, lowering mana consumption while raising damage and knockback.

Trivia

• Each individual tentacle emanates purple radiance that reveals enemies and terrain behind solid background walls.
• The projectile trajectory fluctuates unpredictably within a forward frontal arc, hitting single large enemies several times in one swing.
