Rescuing the webbed captive from the arachnid dens
The Stylist does not appear automatically; she must be rescued from the subterranean depths. Players can find her bound in spider silk inside a Cavern layer Spider Nest as the Webbed Stylist, surrounded by Wall Creepers and Black Recluses. Carrying a Lifeform Analyzer helps detect her presence among the cobwebs. Cutting her free allows her to move into any vacant town room.
She defends her salon with sharp Stylish Scissors. If defeated in battle, she drops the Stylish Scissors at a 12.5% rate. She weathers danger with 250 health, shielded by 15 defense, inflicting 10 contact damage against attacking arachnids.
Salon services and reactive hair dyes
Her primary service allows players to customize their hair style and hair color for a small coin fee. She also sells an extensive line of specialty reactive Hair Dyes: Life Hair Dye (which changes tint based on current health), Mana Hair Dye, Depth Hair Dye (shifting tone based on underground elevation), Biome Hair Dye, Money Hair Dye, and vibrant Rainbow Hair Dye, alongside Hair Dye Remover.
These reactive hair dyes provide real-time visual status cues during exploration and multiplayer sessions without cluttering the screen with buff icons. Her scissors can also shear cobwebs instantly during exploration.
Ocean salon retreats and salon dye styling
Having escaped the horrors of dark underground spider nests, the Stylist treasures the open air and bright sunlight of the coastline. The preference table above displays her full biome ratings and companion scores.
Housing her coastal salon by the Ocean near preferred neighbors reduces the coin cost of custom haircuts and specialized animated hair dyes while powering the Ocean Pylon. In combat, she retaliates with the Stylish Scissors, dropping them at a rate of 12.5% if slain.
Aesthetic customization and character identity
Her styling parlor allows adventurers to refresh their avatar looks across progression milestones. Combining distinct hairstyles with biome dyes and vanity accessories lets players coordinate thematic aesthetics to match late-game armor sets and personal fashion tastes throughout both single-player journeys and multiplayer worlds.
Trivia
- Her Stylish Scissors deal extra damage to cobwebs and shear them instantly without tool delay.
- Hair dyes purchased from her shop dynamically update during multiplayer sessions.
