Town NPCs charge less when they are happy: the game lowers their prices for loved and liked biomes and neighbours and raises them for disliked and hated ones.

Drops
Pirate drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Repelling the high-seas invasion
The Pirate drops anchor and seeks permanent settlement only after the player repels a Pirate Invasion in Hardmode. The invasion triggers randomly at sunrise once an altar has been smashed, or can be summoned manually by using a Pirate Map farmed from Ocean creatures. Once the Flying Dutchman airship goes down in flames and the invasion concludes, the Pirate claims the first vacant room available.
He is well equipped to handle monster incursions, firing heavy Cannonballs or shooting a Handgun at invaders. He withstands assaults with 250 total health, shrugging off hits behind 15 natural armor, while striking intruders for 10 contact damage if they draw too close.
Coastal docks and nautical ordnance
His shop provides naval siege weaponry, notably the Cannon and its explosive Cannonballs, which offer tremendous fixed-angle firepower against invasion hordes and stationary bosses. Cannons can be purchased for twenty-five gold coins and deal substantial damage, firing heavy projectiles in straight trajectories. Skilled builders frequently wire Cannons to timers and pressure plates for automated arena fortifications.
He also sells the whimsical Bunny Cannon, Sail blocks for building ship hulls and nautical rigging, vanity pirate garments including the Pirate Hat, Pirate Shirt, and Pirate Pants, and the Parrot Cracker accessory used to summon a loyal pet parrot companion.
Ocean harbor lodgings and heavy artillery ordnance
The Pirate feels most at home where saltwater breezes and rolling ocean waves lap against his dockside cabin. Check the preference table above to inspect his full environmental affinities and neighbor scores.
Building an oceanfront harbor house for him alongside the Angler or Tavernkeep reduces the cost of Cannons, Cannonballs, and the decorative Pirate Sail while unlocking the Ocean Pylon for coastal fast travel.
Trivia
- Cannons bought from his inventory can be wired to timers for automated base defense against ground invasions.
- His pet parrot summoned from the Parrot Cracker flies alongside the player and perches when stationary.
