The Night's Edge is forged at a Demon Altar or Crimson Altar by merging four core realm blades: Blade of Grass, Muramasa, Volcano, and either Light's Bane or Blood Butcherer. Serving as the pinnacle melee weapon of pre-Hardmode, it delivers 40 base melee damage. Modern updates equip the sword with a secondary circular energy wave that sweeps in a full perimeter around the wielder, striking enemies in front and behind simultaneously.

Wall of Flesh horde clearance and Terra Blade lineage

Executing at a Fast rate of 25 ticks with 4.5 knockback, the broadsword clears tightly clustered hordes like The Hungry during the Wall of Flesh confrontation. It significantly outperforms individual component blades in both range and raw damage per hit. Upon unlocking Hardmode, it acts as an essential crafting ingredient for True Night's Edge and eventually the Terra Blade. The Legendary modifier delivers the premier combination of attack size, speed, and critical impact.
