Obtained as a rare drop during the Blood Moon event from Blood Zombie and Drippler enemies, dropping at a 0.67% rate. Equipping the necklace grants 5 flat armor penetration against hostile entities in combat. This reduction ignores 5 points of enemy defense, raising the net damage inflicted by every connecting strike. It is especially helpful against heavily armored pre-hardmode boss adversaries like the Eater of Worlds or Skeletron.

Rapid-fire synergies and Stinger Necklace refinement

Low-base-damage weapons that strike rapidly, including the Minishark, Bee Gun, and summoner whips, benefit substantially from armor penetration since each individual hit receives the damage bonus. At the Tinkerer's Workshop, combining the necklace with a Honey Comb creates the Stinger Necklace. This upgrade retains the 5 armor penetration while releasing protective bees and conferring the Honey buff whenever the character suffers damage from enemy attacks.
