Town NPCs charge less when they are happy: the game lowers their prices for loved and liked biomes and neighbours and raises them for disliked and hated ones.

Prices are the base prices, before the happiness discount or surcharge. The conditions were found by running the game's own shop code in every world state, one and two at a time.
Drops
Dryad drops nothing in the game's drop rules.
Awakening following pre-hardmode boss triumph
The Dryad arrives once any primary pre-Hardmode boss has been defeated in the world. She functions as a botanical vendor and environmental surveyor, reporting the exact percentages of world purity, Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow upon inquiry.
She possesses 250 life and 15 defense. When hostiles attack the village, she casts Dryad's Blessing, an expansive floral aura that increases ally defenses and afflicts nearby enemies with Dryad's Bane damage over time.
Purification powders, flora seeds, and world health
In conversation, selecting her Status option reveals the exact percentage of the world that has succumbed to the Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow, guiding players toward cleansing milestones. Her shop provides essential gardening and ecological supplies, including Grass Seeds, Sunflowers to halt early evil biome spread, and Planter Boxes that simplify herb farming.
She also sells Purification Powder, which purifies infected stone and dirt blocks before the Steampunker arrives with the Clentaminator. During a Blood Moon, her shop turns sinister, stocking Corrupt or Crimson seeds and vile powders depending on world evil.
Protective blessing aura and combat support
Unlike villagers who run away in panic when monsters invade, the Dryad plays an active defensive role during combat. When enemies approach her settlement, she channels Dryad's Blessing, radiating an expanding circular aura of green leaves across the battlefield.
All players and friendly town residents standing inside her aura gain bonus defense, increased life regeneration, and a thorns effect that reflects damage back onto attackers. Furthermore, any hostile monsters stepping into the leafy ring suffer the Dryad's Bane debuff, taking continuous damage over time.
Jungle canopy sanctuary and floral purification
The Dryad thrives in rich natural ecosystems where living vegetation surrounds her treehouse quarters. Her full environmental ratings and neighbor values are displayed in the preference table above.
Building her home amidst the tall trees of the Jungle alongside the Witch Doctor maximizes her morale and powers the Jungle Pylon. Keeping her happy ensures low prices on Purification Powder, Pumpkin Seeds, and corruption grass seeds during Blood Moons, which helps players restore balance across contaminated biomes.
Trivia
- Her Dryad's Blessing buff provides extra armor to players and nearby town NPCs while standing inside her ward.
- Her status report accurately tracks Corrupt, Crimson, and Hallowed tile coverage down to tenths of a percent.
